Jack Rodwell has met candidates from the Everton Foundation's Premier League into Work scheme to find out more about how the Blues help the community.
The innovative project aims to encourage those who are unemployed by raising their confidence, improving their skills as they job hunt and preparing them for the workplace.
The Everton midfielder took part in a session on the course and was impressed with the work being done at Goodison.
"It was great to meet everyone," Rodwell told the Everton Foundation.
"I took part in a workshop that saw us get our brains going by working our co-ordination. It was a nice way to get to know everyone and build confidence. Hopefully the project will help them all get a job really soon."
Everton is one of only four Premier League Clubs to run the project with Chelsea, Sunderland and Portsmouth also on board.
The Everton Foundation's Premier League into Work project is funded by the DWP and The New Football Pools, for the Premier league.
"Apparently only four Clubs in the Premier League do this work to help people find jobs and I was told that Everton's scheme was the best," added Rodwell.
The Everton Foundation's Premier League into Work courses last 10 weeks and each participant will undertake a two-week placement.
