Children from across Liverpool have visited Goodison Park to take part in the School Food Trust's 'Lets Get Cooking' event.
Everton played host to the launch of the scheme, which involved local schoolchildren cooking and preparing a variety of lunchtime meals and snacks.
Everton Ladies and England goalkeeper Rachel Brown was on hand to assist the children with their lunch time meal preparations.
Suzanne Mitchell, North-West coordinator for the School Food Trust, believes it is a highly engaging event to get young children interested in cooking and healthy eating.
"We are aiming to build awareness of healthy eating and develop food preparation skills," said Suzanne.
"It's not just about cooking skills for the children, but skills and recipes they can take home and share with their parents and the community.
"They have been cooking and preparing their own lunches, and the idea is they will be able to prepare what they have done today at home with their families."
Each school will receive a total of £2500 over three years to help fund the scheme, aiming to provide children with a wealth of culinary skills and a sound knowledge of healthy eating.
