The Everton Foundation has a growing Women's and Girls programme, which reflects the national trend of football becoming the most participated sport for Women's and Girls. Engaging with girls as young as 5 years old all the way through to Everton's successful Ladies senior team, who won the Women's Premier League Cup in 2007/08. The Everton Foundation provides opportunities for girls and women of all abilities to enjoy exercise through football. The programme also provides girls with positive role models and inspires women and girls to be involved in activities that are hugely beneficial; physically, socially and psychologically.

The grassroots programme provides opportunity for girls from 5-16 to experience football in an environment that encourages, inspires and motivates. The sessions will develop girls of all abilities and will promote values such as Fair play and Team play as well as encouraging girls to enjoy physical activity.

The programme also has an educational element to it in terms of providing the girls with information on the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle and how a combination of physical activity and healthy eating will have a positive effect on their lives. The education of the teachers within the schools is also an important strand, as they will have contact with the girls beyond the programme. A teachers 'coaching day' will be held to share ideas and information.
